India Jacobs Hair and Makeup Secrets

What does BEAUTIFUL.HAIR mean to you?

Beautiful hair I believe is in the eye of the beholder, but to me its all about what makes you feel good! Hair is so personal, different styles and colours work differently for everyone. As long as you feel beautiful with every aspect of your hair then that’s what I feel makes it beautiful. There is no universal style that suits everyone, that’s what makes its so special, and I love that!

Why did you want to become a model?

For me, modelling as a career path was something that happened so suddenly! It was always more of a fantasy that I never truly believed could become a reality. However, I have always been so drawn to the idea of working with new people, brands and ideas every single day.

What has been your biggest ‘pinch me’ moment in your career so far?

There are so many experiences I am grateful for so far in my career, like walking in my first ever fashion week, and standing face to face with designers such as Alex Perry, that I had only ever watched on television! Thinking back, the most significant moment to date where I seriously had to pinch myself was seeing my first ever spread printed in magazine. Photos and campaigns online are always exciting, but going to buy a physical copy of myself was something so special I never thought would happen!

What do you love most about modelling?

The most rewarding thing about modelling for me is the opportunity to meet and work with like-minded individuals, who share the drive and passion to create amazing content. Modelling gives me the chance to travel the world through my work, immersing myself in different cultures and meeting people from every walk of life!

How would you describe your hair?

My hair could be described as long, straight and bold! I’ve grown up learning to love my hair and its unique colour! I haven’t always been a fan of the strawberry blonde colouring, but now as I’ve grown up I can see how lucky I am to have my hair as my stand out feature.

What hair products or tools do you use on a regular basis to keep your hair healthy?

As a model, my hair is one of my most distinctive features, therefore I am so careful to keep it looking healthy! I have recently added JSHealth Vitamins to my hair care routine, using their ‘Hair + Energy’ Supplements regularly and have noticed an amazing difference in the strength and shine of my hair.

The JSHealth H+E Vitamins contain zinc which helps to maintain normal healthy hair, skin & nails. Iodine from Kelp helps to restore hair strength and volume which naturally supports hair growth and the iodine fro kelp promotes wellbeing and healthy energy levels throughout the day.

I also swear by my boar bristle brush, to detangle and smooth my hair without causing breakage and fizziness.

What is your signature hair and makeup look?

A go-to look I have been I have been falling back on a lot lately would have to be a centre-parted, straightened and volumised low pony. I often pair this hairstyle with a dewy makeup look, warm tone eyes, fluffy brows and a glossy lip. It accentuates my strongest features whilst softening my overall look!

What hair styling products do you use regularly on yourself ?

I love being creative with styling my hair and often find myself using heat to do so, therefore one of my top hair styling products would be Davines Melu Hair Shield.

Another product I reach for regularly is the Oribe ‘Swept Up Volume Powder Spray’ as it takes every hairstyle from average to glamourous in seconds. Having naturally flat hair, adding volume is one of my favourite things to do!

What are the makeup and skin care products you are loving at the moment ?

The current makeup product I find myself reaching for everyday is the YSL Touché Éclat Blur Primer, not only does it feel amazing on the skin, it blurs my pores and illuminates my complexion all whilst still letting my skin breathe! I can use this product for everything from natural looks to full glam, and be confident in the dewy finish it gives my skin.

When it comes to skincare, I can’t go past my Skinstitut routine. I cleanse using the L-Lactic Cleanser morning and night, exfoliate with the Glycolic scrub twice a week, and moisturize religiously using their moisture defence cream.

The exfoliating cleanser deeply hydrates and nourishes any skin, improving skin radiance, texture and tone. It helps to strengthens skin integrity and reduces irritation and sensitivity.

Skinstitut's Moisture Defence for normal skin is a lightweight low oil non pore clogging moisturiser designed to hydrate smooth and reduce wrinkles on the skin.

What hair & makeup trends are you loving at the moment?

Glowing skin and no-makeup makeup have become so on trend lately, and I absolutely love that glam makeup still feels natural! Soft strobing and dewiness has replaced harsh contouring and has become my go-to look for everyday makeup.

I feel like with hair trends, its become more about ‘less is more’. Hair is becoming all about shiny, glossy, long bone straight hair, and I love that!

When in need of an outfit for a special event I can’t look past Kookai! I never fail to find something timeless and stunning, that’s also such amazing quality. I recently treated myself to an amazing white tailored jumpsuit from Kookai that I cannot wait to wear!

Who are your current fashion muses?

Someone I find myself looking to for fashion inspiration lately would have to be Kendall Jenner! There’s just something about the way she can make her street style look so effortless but at the same time glamorous! I love how she wears denim and a t-shirt but makes it look like she’s walked straight off the runway!
